Mac Wood’s Dune Rides
The only tour company that is permitted within the dunes escorts visitors on an exciting excursion through the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. Mac Wood’s buggies glide up, and down the dunes, the tour is well narrated, the ride lasts approximately forty minutes following a seven-mile route that includes a brief photo stop. The Dune Ride is a one-of-a-kind experience and the best way to see the Silver Lake Sand Dunes.

Drive the Dunes
One of Silver Lake’s most popular attractions is the 450-acre off-road vehicle scramble area. You can drive on the dunes in your own 4x4s provided your vehicle is outfitted with an ORV sticker and a ten-foot orange flag. Alternatively, you can rent off-road vehicles specially equipped to handle the unique challenges of driving on sand.
